In this position, she is able to integrate her expertise in dental knowledge, managing patient care, and incorporating her passion for improving patients’ lives with implementing oral systemic care into practice. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her children and reading oral systemic health research. One fun fact about Lora is that she was a figure skater for The Ohio State University. She is also co-owner of a business, DHE Method, that provides coaching and resources to implement oral systemic care into practice. She also co-hosts the Ask Why Podcast.
In this webinar, DeWitt Wilkerson, DMD and Lora Hopper, RDH discuss the importance of collaboration between oral and general medicine. They review case studies demonstrating oral features that are linked to systemic issues, such as scalloped tongue signalling airway obstruction issues such as sleep apnea.
Further, they educate about the various high-risk oral pathogens that travel through the bloodstream and trigger disease throughout the body, such as cardiovascular disease. They present the Root Cause Tree and introduce The BaleDoneen Method, providing a clip from Dr. Brad Bale.
